We are absolutely delighted that Ruth’s hard work and achievements have been recognised by winning Agricultural Advisor of the Year at the inaugural National Women in Agriculture Awards.

Ruth has been with DJM Consulting for over a decade and during that time she has had numerous professional recognition including:

   ● Winning the Agricultural Advisor of the Year Award at the inaugural National Women in Agriculture Awards.

   ● Qualifying as Rural Arbitrator (RICS DipArb) and being appointed to Presidents’ Panels at RICS and CAAV Panel of Arbitrators – the third woman to do so!

   ● Becoming Tenant Farmers Association Recommended Professional (West Midlands) 

   ● Qualifying as Member of British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (MBIAC)

   ● Becoming RICS Registered Valuer

   ● Becoming a member of the BASIS Environmental Advisers Register

Ruth is a leading and trusted advisor in independent rural business consultancy, focussing on land and asset enhancement advice for farmers and land managers and implementation of that advice. Her work involves:

   ● Dispute resolution, acting as arbitrator, independent expert and appointed surveyor

   ● Using her knowledge of dispute resolution and Court and Tribunal processes to help clients avoid costly conflicts

   ● Providing and implementing strategic business advice to farmers and rural businesses

   ● Taxation planning, tenancy and business succession planning, raising funds, business structure changes, business strategy evaluations

   ● Undertaking ‘Red Book’ valuations for various reasons

   ● Advising landowners about land promotion opportunities and terms for inclusion in option agreements including valuation formulae and price calculations.

   ● Working with clients to add value to land through gaining planning consents, including development plan departures

   ● Advising clients about renewable energy opportunities

   ● Advising landowners and tenants about tenancy agreement terms; setting up, managing and ending agreements including telecommunications code agreements

   ● Detailed knowledge of grants and subsidies available for farmers and landowners and of application processes and knowledge transfer of same to clients

   ● Advising tenants on working with their landlords for mutual benefit – novel solutions
